I have been making "stockings". NO not the kind you wear but the kind you can hang on your mantel or anywhere else in the house during the holidays or anytime. Although it is customary to hang them only at Christmas time I have made these so they are just colorful and whimsical enough so you may want them up all year. AND if you don't celebrate Christmas they can be used as a just decoration anytime or to plop a gift(s) to give someone just because. Hang one in the kitchen to hold your baguettes even.
These stockings are for sale right here on my blog. Eventually ye old Etsy will be up in full swing but for now I am doing it this way.....for these items only.

Each "stocking" is hand sewn and each one sports a hand painted face on canvas twill. They are made of cotton fabric on the outside (the body portion always being some kind of black and white fabric) and is lined in canvas twill which gives them body. The edges and top portion are accented with colorful fabrics and edged in a contrasting fabric. No two faces will be exactly a like either.
Enlarge the group photo to see approx. length and width.
They are wide and long enough to hold a few small gifts or one long one. OR you can add dried flowers or silk flowers or have a doll hanging out of one of them as part of your decor....it's up to your imagination.
Keep in mind there are no special fabric requests.......each one will have the main portion black and white of some kind with a colorful fabric or fabrics for the rest.
EACH ONE IS $29.50 (there was a misprint before- sorry) PLUS $5.50 SHIPPING IN THE US.
If you are interested you can email me at
awhimsicalbohemian@comcast.net
I can PayPal you an invoice and upon payment confirmation it will be shipped within 24 hrs.
IF you are out of the US the shipping will have to be calculated for your location.
Right now I have these FOUR completed and I am working on more as we speak (well not right this very minute but you get the idea) and it's all first come first serve. IF these 4 sell, there will be more posted each day as they are completed.
Here are the first 4 in number order that are available NOW:
They are fun and happy and could even be a special treasure holder. So please let me know if you are interested in any of these four or future ones that will be coming this week.
TWO MORE ADDED:

If you would like to purchase one please indicate which #. Thank You.

G made a new appetizer this weekend that I had seen demonstrated on Oprah. The ingredients are odd and you wouldn't think they'd mix together but truly they did.
Sourdough french bread sliced, Brie cheese sliced, basil leaves, semi sweet choc chips and Olive Oil (not extra virgin)
You brush two slices french bread front and back with olive oil.
To one slice add the sliced brie, a handful of the semi sweet choc chips on top
and a couple of fresh basil leaves on top of that.
Put the other bread slice on top and grill on a Paninni or paninni-type grill until the cheese and choc chips melt together.

(melted choc and cheese on grill - G uses a George Forman grill for everything)
Then cut the "sandwich" in smaller pieces and serve.
You can do as many of these as you like. Since it was just the two of us we just cup up one.
(before it was cut in to smaller portions)
It was surprisingly good and we were licking our fingers because the choc oozed a bit! The combination of sweet and almost savory along with the non descript taste of the brie makes for a really interesting mix of flavors.
Try it!
Well it's back to sewing I go ............the weather is in the 50's here and for us that's considered downright cold.
Today is also the 2 yr anniversary of my Mom's passing. Rather than sit here in a puddle I decided it was better to light the candle on the shrine I made for her during Dia de los Muertos and smile at all the wonderful memories.....that is the best way to honor her. It's hard but I know she prefers that.
Oh and next Monday is my birthday giveaway.
Hope your week is off to a good start..........
Love,
Lisa
