Sharon of All Norah's Art did a post based on a question posed to her from another blogger who had it posed to her and so on. I decided I liked the idea and decided I would jump in....kind of like a meme but without the questions and rules of passing it on etc. Sharon did a lovely, concise list..... but me, well overly wordy me, took this from my "About" page, tweaked it just a tad and thought "well, this IS what I'm about after all". So here is my answer to the question "WHAT ARE YOU ABOUT RIGHT NOW?"........................................... ( I even used Sharon's post title)
I am ART and boxes of paints and brushes and messy and
canvas and paper and blissful and craving. I am photography and blurred and
sharp and moment captured and seeking. I
am story teller and yarn spinner and character driven and blocked and frozen
and unspoken words. I am centuries and whimsy and fantasy and clouds on a blue
sky day and the ocean waves and dolls and teacups and deep discussions and
meditative moments and wind chimes and porch swings. I am imagination and
dreaminess and in my head and in the clouds. I am picket fence and secret garden and window
gazing. I am bustling city and quiet mountains and pajamas and fabulous
handbags and bare feet and bright colors. I am nostalgia and modern and shabby
chic and Zen. I am fairies and Buddha and birds and mermaids and gypsy. I am
the scent of lavender and Coco Mademoiselle and music and dancing and moons and
stars. I am up the hill and down the hill and complacence and restlessness. I
am friendship and loyalty and care and sensitive and strong and mild and tears.
I am travel and books and home and
movies and trees and breezes. I am green grass and sand and wildflowers and
floating mist and jeweled hues and soft and heart. I am wonder and curiosity
and knowledge and thought and learning and confused. I am candlelight and
chandeliers and bowler hats and top hats and sari scarves and organized and
messy and think small and think big. I am glue and fragile and broken and
unbroken and character and silly and logical and thought provoking. I am listen
to and listening and keeper of secrets and open book. I am needle and thread and
fabric and clay and sun and momentous and inconsequential. I am there and here
and hidden and out front. I am wings and water on rocks and humming and glitter
and gazing balls. I am hand holding and hug squeezing and kiss on the cheek and
wild and alternative and same and different. I am books of poetry and novels
about love and illustrated images and portrait photography. I am gnomes and
seashells and Goddess and plain and striped socks and red shoes and baskets of
treasure. I am found feathers and heart shaped rocks and bits of sea glass and
a cell phone and ceramic mugs and TV and dangly earrings and long hair and
white cotton dresses. I am clothes on the line and lists and sleepy and wide
awake and cloth napkins and aprons and gravel roads. I am farmhouse and beach
cottage and land and a patch of grass and colorful parasols and hammocks. I am
long hair and green eyes and I am too young to be old and too old to be young.
I am computers and fountain pens and treasure hunts and squeals. I am laughter
and hydrangea and garden gates and secret stories and cupcakes and crying and
lemon water and whispers and exclamation. I am enchanted and bubbles and magic
wands and frivolous. I am dappled forest and glistening stream and blown glass
and pretty boxes and beaded trim and crowns and
If you read this entire thing I so appreciate you taking the time....I know you have better things to do than read about me. If you are so inclined maybe you'll do this yourself.....if you want. No pressure. No rules. No picking others to pass it on to. IF you do decide to answer the question "what are you about right now?" please let me know though as I'd love to come and read it!
This is another painting I did recently. It was a quick one - 12"x12" - it started out just wiping around paint that was left out and would dry to nothing if I didn't use it. I then did the stencil because it was sitting there and from there I thought it needed a dancer........maybe not ethnically correct in costume but oh well. I even got out the glitter. Happy Father's Day to all the Dad's out there! My Dad and my father-in-law are no longer with us but we will be remembering them as we always do.

I know I have been comment-challenged of late, but we've discussed this. I do read blogs as much as possible (mostly in the evening) and it is nothing personal nor is it that you don't warrant a comment. It's the on going push-pull of blogging......I know others must feel it too. All I want to do is create ART and yet I don't want to lose my connections with all you fabulous people out there in the process. I want to thank all those who do stop by and for the lovely and wonderful comments you leave despite it all.
I will try to do better at reciprocating, really I will! (holding up right hand as if to be sworn in)
