This is the shrine I made for my Mom for last years Dia de Bloglandia. It sits up on a cabinet all year and each time I come across something significant of my Mom's I add it to the shrine. This year I finally went through her clothes in the storage, it was daunting as some still had her scent and brought back times I recalled her wearing certain things or WHERE she wore an outfit. Rather than remove each thing from the hanger I just had to go through each garment to make sure I didn't miss an angel pin, she had many and most always wore one on a collar or someplace on her clothing or jackets. I knew I'd find some and it was those wee little pins that I knew I could not toss in to a donation bag. After going through her clothes I had a little pile of them and THEN I could put the clothes in the bags for donation and add her pins to the shrine. Now as we go through things and come across more personal items of hers, ones that meant something to me, to her or both.....I will be adding them to the shrine. One day I actually may have to add on to it.
Making this shrine proved to be an amazing personal experience, one I will never forget.
