***Edited to add that I JUST (Saturday) realized I wrote and posted this on Wednesday - so why did I title it "Monday Mutterings"????? Maybe I should check a calendar now and then.. DUH!

The sun is beating down on the parched ground, confused that it's almost Autumn and suddenly it's acting like mid summer. It seems that's the way goes here...lulling it's inhabitants in to a false sense of weather security, teasing that Fall is around the corner and then BAM it hits us with the laughing rays of heat. I realize those coastside are feeling "finally!! summer!!" but here.......sadly NOT coastside..... it's been a crazy ride weatherwise. Maybe I'm odd but I LIKE when it feels like the appropriate season. We don't get snow here (thankfully) but I do like it to be cold in winter. I like the crispness of early Spring days and so on. Matching the temperature to the corresponding season.....not that difficult except that Mother Nature has a dizzying sense of humor. We'll see what she has in store come the Autumnal Equinox in three weeks.....this ought to be good....to see what mood she's in.
But enough about the weather..........
This is Lucy, but we lovingly call her "Chubba".....I wonder if she is planning to order on line while we are sleeping...maybe I'll drop her a hint list of supply wants.
I don't have much else to say right now...just needed to pop in so it doesn't seem like I've abandoned my blog. I received my sketchbook for the Sketchbook Project(see upper right side bar) and sort of did a revamp on the pages as they were ever so thin....the way I did it was a bit wonky so I had to remove some pages BUT it will all work out in the end as it's all about what's ON the page and keeping the book it's original size in dimension (which of course I did). I am anxious to start filling it up with art now.
Sadey is sitting here licking my elbow. She is constantly looking for the tiniest thing she can chew on..........I swear this dog is part goat. But she's a love and learning the word 'stay'. She does, however, still sneeks to the cat box when you're not looking and that is a major NOOOOOOOOO! I will share photos of her later this week, she's huge and just going to be 6 months tomorrow. She still wants to sit on your lap so we've nicknamed her "Poodle" because she thinks she's a small dog.
I hope everyone is having a great start to your week and the new month!
Love,
Lisa
XOXO
