I've had questions about how to do your post as a participant when OWOH begins....it's really not hard if you are already an active blogger and do regular posts...but here you go. REMEMBER...DO NOT do this until MIDNIGHT ON JANUARY 30th or after.
First and FOREMOST: make sure it's easy to leave a comment on your blog - using the comment moderator during that time is not always a good idea.
Title your post: One World One Heart 2011
Second: Include the logo in your post so it links back to the information post here(this is in case someone comes along who doesn't know about it.
Third: Introduce yourself.....who are you? It doesn't need to be your entire bio and resume.... for example: (this is completely made up just to give you an idea)
Hi, Welcome to my blog, I am Jane Doe and I am a photographer living in Washington state, USA. I love taking photos of anything and everything and then adding my imagination through PS to make them more unusual. I also love interior design/DIY and making extraordinary things from ordinary things. I am a gypsy at heart and love to travel whenever my tribe and I can.
By stating those few facts you get a sense of who Jane Doe is and think "hey I like those things too...." So you go back and look around her blog....find some inspiration and even more you have in common. You leave a comment. She in turn goes to your blog and before you know it you're swaping stories and giving helpful hints to each other on DIY projects....and YOU may be from another country. THUS IS THE INTENT OF OWOH! You may be someone with a lot of followers who already know this about you BUT it's important to realize people will be coming by for the first time.
Fourth: have good photos of your "door prize or prizes" and clear descriptions of what they have a chance to win.....THEN tell people:
A. It's open to all active bloggers worldwide
B. Tell them to leave a comment, making sure there is a way to contact them if they win your prize and so you can visit THEIR blog (DO NOT MAKE PEOPLE DO ANYTHING ELSE IN ORDER TO ENTER OR HAVE MORE CHANCES TO WIN......) This is about MEETING one another.
C. Let them know theWinner will be announced Feb. 17th and that you will email the winner as well as post it.
Once you have done the post and published it you need to click on the title which will bring up a link in your address bar. Copy that link and email me with it that you are participating (NOT UNTIL MIDNIGHT ON JAN. 30TH OR AFTER OF COURSE) and what country you are in. I will check each and every post and will contact you if there is something wrong, otherwise I'll leave you a comment that you've been added.
I hope this has helped for those who were not understanding all the criteria. I try to be as informative and clear as I possibly can.
