There is a secondary project in the works as well. Since Monica received SO many squares the ones remaining were doled out to volunteers (I am happy to say I am one of them). We are each to make a 10" quilt block and incorporate the squares we were given. Each block will be the sole creative vision of each person in any colors, design, theme etc. of their choosing. These finished blocks will be sent back to Monica where they will all be sewn together. The final completed piece will then be submitted to a new Stampington publication called Art Quilt Studio (due out in 2009). I am sew completely excited about this project as well because this too will eventually be sold to benefit the Susan G. Komen for the cure.

The above Kitty was a surprise gift from my wonderful Frister Gemma. What a wonderful treat to see a package in the post box and her name on the return address. She is painted all over with almost neon colors and glitter and on her front she represents our time in Sedona. I just adore her and she has a prominent spot on a shelf in my studio. I know I already said this but I will say it again, THANK YOU dear Gemma! I showed her to Daisy and Lucy and told them "look what Auntie Gemma made". I have to keep it high enough because Daisy would definitely want to play with her!!
Speaking of MY kitties, I was so happy to be able to capture this moment between them. Sometimes they wrestle and pounce on one another.....still other times bop one another on the head. BUT they sleep near one another and eat next to each other and sometimes THIS happens. A wee kiss between sisters. Awwww! (Ok maybe they just like to sniff each other but I prefer to think of it as a loving gesture)
I am still hard at work on my newest art doll, the snippet I showed in the last post has completely changed....see what I mean. I get so obsessed with these things that I am at it over 12 hours a day.....can you say "sore AND spreading bum"? Can you say "eye strain"? Ah but can you say "pure and total bliss?" I will be sharing her soon...........in the meantime here's a new snippet: (is that cleavage?) Oh and speaking of Art Dolls, I used a few of mine to experiment with making a video behind the scenes. It's not elaborate or filled with special effects...although it does have music (I used still images) but I'm working on doing a regular video (I've been wanting to do this for some time now, ever since G gave me my new video camera back in December)....so if you care to take a look at my test video you can click HERE.
