We - Terisa(Running With Scissors) and I - would like to invite ALL of you to take part in a fun event that will give you the chance to be a fashion designer. You don't even need to know how to sew! All you need is your imagination!
We thought it might be time to pump up the volume around blogland!
Do you have a dress form? A mannequin? A nearly life size doll? An ironing board? A mop? Perhaps your teenage daughter or a willing best friend? Yourself? Something or someone who can be your model? To illustrate the size I am talking about it should fit on a standard hanger....HEY, even a hanger could be your model. If it doesn't have a head and you want a head.....make one.......fashion one from something, a blown up face on cardboard even. Just know, heads are not a requirement.
(This challenge does not include regular sized dolls, paper dolls or tiny forms as a model)
The challenge is to create a garment.........ANY garment you want. Use your imagination......use this to design something over the top, whimsical and wild or sedate and queenly - whatever.....it's up to you. The entire concept of the look and feel of your garment (along with their accessories) is entirely up to you and YOUR VISION.
With ONE EXCEPTION..............the main garment you create must be made out of PAPER!! yes, I said PAPER! It can be 2 pieces or a skirt or a dress or a top or a coat or a gown or a jacket.......or even a costume. The choice is up to you in terms of what you decide to create.
You may use real buttons or zippers or any type of closures....BUT the entire base outfit must be made from paper. The type of paper you use is entirely up to you........be it newspaper, card stock, printer paper, wrapping paper, freezer paper, paper bags,brown paper,.........whatever you want. There is paper everywhere! AND you can paint it, embellish it any way you want. YOU are the designer.You may also use real trim to edge or create an embellishment. You may also use accessories like a scarf, hat, bag or even a belt. AGAIN, just be sure the garment is made of paper AND that it isn't just the front like a giant paper doll.........there should be a back too.
If you don't sew you can glue or staple or pin or tape even....................if you sew feel free to use needle and thread or the sewing machine to construct your garment. Just NO fabric.
There is NO theme to this.............it should reflect your creative "point of view".

On Wednesday September 17th post your creation on your blog.......make sure you show various views AND tell us a little about it and what you used. What inspired you?
THEN all you need to do is email me(see left sidebar) the link to your post and I will create a "Project Blogway Designer List" on my sidebar so everyone can go around admiring all the fashions!!
PLEASE don't let the fact you may never have made clothes before (or even made so much as a wee pillow) stop you.......this is paper people and I KNOW you can make it work - you are going to surprise yourself. (you can even get a friend to help you) It doesn't have to have sleeves or buttons and button holes or a complicated collar or a zipper.........if you can do those things, fine.....but there are lots of other things you can do to make YOUR garment extraordinary, over the top, even whacky if that's your vision. This is about having FUN not being STRESSED! No one is judging you.
