I have been missing working with fabric. It's like a steadfast friend that although I have neglected lately it is never out of my heart. There is so much that can be done with fabric - it's something that can be painted, manipulated, sanded, dyed, sewn together or sewn on, ripped, stretched, beaded and more. It's flexible and portable and the results change with each new brain storm.
For years and years I have favored hand sewing over using the sewing machine. It's a Zen thing for me.........I derive a calm from using only needle and thread in various ways.

I have been making clay fairies lately and they are 95% done....when they reach 100% I am going to heed the calling for working with fabric once again. We'll see what comes from it!
What medium keeps calling YOU back to it? What artistic pursuit gives you that Zen thing?
This was in the shop I went to last weekend.......isn't that a cute idea? I think it would be cute for a childs and/or adult room - I am now on the lookout for a sweet crinoline for a table in my studio. (even if it IS square) My Mom used to have many from her square dance days but I think they're sadly all gone now.
Sew with all that said I best get those fairies done, my eye is on that Etsy shop and having a varied selection of things to offer.
I will be squeezing in some reading too....recently SPF recommended a couple of books in her post that truly appealed to me - I ordered them and they arrived today..... I am anxious to read both.
Are there enough hours in the day?
(and once again I am behind on blogs....sorry)
I hope you're having a fabulous week so far - take some time to just BE!
XOXOXO
Love,
Lisa
