*PARTICIPANT*
Hello and Welcome.....Thanks for flying in to my blog on the WINGS OF OWOH! Please have a cup of tea and take some fresh organic oranges. I am Lisa Swifka and although I am the creator and host of this event I am also a participant. Let's get to know one another shall we....I am an artist living on the West Coast of the USA who is part whimsy and part bohemian....part storyteller and part dreamer. I love to use my imagination in so many ways that it sets me free to explore and be inspired constantly. I am too old to be young and too young to be old....a quote from the movie Fried Green Tomatoes I've always resonated to. I LOVE and ADORE meeting new people. forging new connections, creating a dialog with like minded people and other kindred spirits....which is precisely why I created this event in the first place. It is my dream to write and illustrate children's books, the kind you can read to a child at bedtime...with a rhyming cadence. I have lots of dreams still to be fulfulled. It is the laughter of children, the giggles and the new found wonder in their eyes that can be most inspirational. My art also comprises goddess women who guide the Universe to greatness and peace.....and birds....and color, color,color and whatever suits my fancy in whatever medium I choose.
My other interests include interior design (especially repurposing things), working with textiles, reading books that take me someplace in my mind or teach me something (one cannot have too many books around their home), the tranquility of the ocean with aquatic colors that have yet to be created in paint color. Travel, meeting a good friend for coffee or a glass of wine and having a long, meaningful chat peppered with lots of laughter. Dear friends are the joy of life, among them are ones I've met through blogging that have enriched my life even further. I could go on but that's the beauty of new friendships....in time we learn more and more about one another as we go along.
My husband (who I refer to as BohoHandyman) and I have 3 four-legged furry children, 1 rambunctios 10 mo old puppy and 2 cats who think they are my studio assistants - frankly I think all 3 animals own US.

Giving though has carries a much better feeling. I do hope you'll come back and visit me again even when there is nothing to win ...except perhaps a new friend.

I made this some time ago but seeing as it fits this years theme I thought it appropo to be one of my prizes. It's completely handmade (and not small) using various fabrics. The legs are posable on "The Muse"(she who rides) as well as the legs and tail feathers of "JoyRide"(the bird) The Muse's face is made of clay. When positioned just right they can sit upon a shelf waiting for their next adventure. (the bench is not included)

Wood based (cut by BohoHandyman) she is full of glitter and gold & silver leaf, crushed shells, mica flakes, metal pieces and beaded trim. She's a grand Goddess and her purpose is to remind whoever looks in this mirror (mirror on the other side)..that they are a Goddess too!!
Third door prize is you guessed it again...another mirror
"you are beautiful" hand mirror
Wood base(cut by BohoHandyman). This hand mirror is full of German glitter and regular silver glitter and Blue Hawaii glitter. The letters are a purplish hue glitter mixture ...the word is to remind you how beautful you are. Trim on the edges, silver leafed handle. (look closely at the closeup photo...do you see the orange star? That appeared from taking this in the sun...I did NOT add that in and was so surprised to see it). SEE, you will feel sparkly AND beautiful!

and to all those participating my sincerest apologies for all the confusion about the start date/time for this years event and having to turn you away until it started. I know there was some frustration and anger with a few of you but I HAD to make it the same for all.
