LOLLIE and LALLIE MEYER LEMON are growing up.......
Lollie has lemons here
I talk to her and Lallie but so far Lallie is a late bloomer
Someday we'll be cooking with, or drinking or just smelling their fresh scent....the fruits of their labor.
If only I can keep the spider webs off them....I do try.... (and with me and bugs, especially spiders, that's a huge deal)
Someday soon I hope to transplant them in to the ground in their permanent spot but until then they seem to do ok in their containers.

Since the vehicle theft we put so much on hold and now that we have a new vehicle things are settling down and we have had to let go of Princess Periwinkle. Oh I still keep an eye out for her (habit) but we know she's long gone and she's no longer ours even if she is miraculously found. The only lingering sadness is something some may find quite silly but I am a very sentimental gal. Years ago my Mom went to see the Nutcracker Ballet and she bought me a pair of wee white beaded ballet slippers attached together by a ribbon. I put them around my rearview mirror of my then car and when we got Princess Periwinkle I transferred them to her rearview mirror and there they've been for tens years......they are now gone of course. And I admit to having a tear or two over those wee ballet slippers....but I also know I have to let it go. Funny the things we get attached to.
I haven't yet named the new one......but she's a beauty and she is a real learning curve due to her many bells and whistles. I lucked out finding her on Craigslist of all places and the sellers turned out to be THE sweetest younger couple and so lovely to be around. It was the husbands vehicle but his commute became too much for that kind of vehicle so he had to let her go (his wife doesn't like SUVs so she didn't want it). He just kept saying he wanted someone who would take good care of it...I assured him that would not be a problem.
Hey, you want to go treasure hunting?we'll put the back seat down and there will be plenty of room for our finds! wink wink
AND WITH THAT WE END THE SEEMINGLY NEVER ENDING VEHICLE SAGA........

The next Newsletter for Our World Our Art will be going out tomorrow morning. It's all ready to go...and basically contains what was in the first one plus a couple additional items. As I say in the Newsletter there will be 3 more. One the end of October that will contain the new logo, the next will be about mid December with the actual event dates and the last one will go out AFTER the event ends. So if you haven't signed up for it yet do it now and if you don't receive it tomorrow please let me know. Each one (except the last one) will continue to have all the information about what it's about, how to participate etc. The reason for reiterating these things each time is so that everyone is continually aware of how it will work...the do's and don'ts etc AND for those who sign up for the Newsletter after one has gone out. This way you can sign up any time and still get all the information.

See what happens when you don't post for awhile......the next ones get pretty long.
I am getting back to the house projects again and hope to have some photos to show in the near future. We still need to get the sofa reupholstered, find a new chair.......find or make new lamps.....the list is endless............ AND most importantly I NEED to get back to ART. It's been so long and I have so many things I want to paint and create. There never seems to be enough hours in the day to do everything.......
In the meantime here's just one wee thing I've done....I bought the table for a song at my fave consignment store and knew I'd paint it. Just as I began I realized "wait, I need a before pic".
BEFORE
AFTER (painted with "duck egg" chalk paint, a bit of dark wax and sanding)
(ick, I do not like seeing that cord)
I am addicted to Annie Sloan's Chalk Paint and recently purchased 3 new colors to add to my arsenal. I finally have a local "Stockist" so I don't have to pay shipping and we joke she is my new "crack dealer"! I am thinking of takung a workshop from her next month to learn some fabulous new techniques.....oh lordy lordy.....nothing will be safe from paint after that! BohoHandyman knows if he sits TOO still he just may get painted too! HA!

Well peeps that about wraps things up for now, I'm off to check out an antique store I haven't been to in a long time and of course I must pay a visit to my fave consignment store.....you just never know what may be lurking in the shadows saying "psssst, over here!" OH and speaking of consignment/antique stores.....I am finding with the trend to repurpose items for reuse some places are jacking up prices for even the most ridiculous items. I am NOT falling in to that trap, we went to one a week ago where we did buy an old wooden blanket chest for a fair price (THAT I won't be painting). BUT smaller items were priced insane. If only they realized by keeping prices affordable they'd probably sell a lot more!
OK really I'm stopping now.........
Have a wonderful day!!
