The crow said to the witch
If you so much as twitch
even raising a stick
I will take you away
where you will have to stay
until you mend your ways
she felt stronger than he
but he was stronger than she
He flew down to her home
and with a caw and a groan
he lifted the crone
with her yelling "I'll get you"
The crow just laughed saying look who has who
you've done dirty deeds
you scare every child each Halloween
while she shook it in rage
Her eyes burning red but there she stayed
he let out a caw
he watched as she melted in to kind grandma
It seemed all of her evil
was now left behind
to commemorate her kindness
and the change in her ways.
There were costumes of all imaginable kind
there were pumpkins carefully carved down to the rind
Everyone was dancing to fireworks all in a line.
It was festive and joyful and all very sweet
She handed out candy and all sorts of treats
She patted the heads of the children she'd meet.
But in all of the hustle and bustle of the place
she thought no one noticed her sneering face
Or that there was evil behind all that lace.
She thought no one noticed her eye in a wink
she thought no one heard her grinding her teeth
At least that's what she THINKS......
Happy Halloween!!!!
Love,
Lisa
