It was a lovely walk around our local lake but it's 2 miles around and when you aren't a regular it's a bit much the first time out. I went with a friend I reconnected with through the reunion and we chatted the whole way and it was great BUT my shins and ankles felt it afterwards.....now I need to start slower and with a shorter distance to work my way up. But at least it has ducks and trees and things to look at along the way and walking is good. Sometimes you take things in your "own backyard" for granted.....I need to go more often if only at times (besides walking) just to sit and write, take more photos or just read or draw. I actually need to go do all that on a beach somewhere too...listening to the sounds of the waves. Clear my head.
