Today marks 7 years I have been blogging and what a journey it's been so far.
Blogging has afforded me the opportunity to not only put myself out there but to connect with so many amazing people I wouldn't ordinarily meet. I can say that I have made some truly good friends through blogging......some I have been able to meet in person and others via the phone in very meaningful conversation. I am inspired by so many and I am rendered in awe at the experience.
When I first began THIS blog (which was July 14, 2008) I commemorated the move with offereing some tea or lemonade. I offer this again today.
I started with a blog called Hand of Enchantment but by January 2007 I knew I had to close it and start anew as that first blog was filled with sadness regarding my Mom and oldest brother. I then started a new blog that month I called Heart of the Nest that I had until July 2008 when I switched to Typepad and started anew in the "home" I would feel most comfortable in....this one...A Whimsical Bohemian.
Blogging is a pleasure - even if it's not always frequent........having a blog you can make it your own special place in the blogisphere. Uniquely you, uniquely me. And in the process hopefully something I create, images I share, words I write, even for a moment, will resonate with another. That is how connections are formed. Blogging can be a window in to a person you may never meet face to face but whose life and writings give you pleasure to encounter via this medium.
I wasn't sure how I was going to commemorate this occasion as I have been busy making a gift for my friend's birthday (which is today too) and at the same time I had a bout with something that is fine now but I still have to finish the nasty antibiotics.
I decided to consult a wise little sage as to what I should do
Me: Oh wise Gnome, whatever shall I do to commemorate my 7 years of blogging thus far?
He put his hands behind his back and thought a moment
Gnome: Well my dear, let us think about this a moment. What did you want to do?
Me: Well I wanted to do a giveaway but I have nothing prepared. I procrastinated and got busy with other things and now here I am..... giftless.
Gnome: There is a simple solution to your dilemma my dear.
So the wise Gnome whispered in my ear and I was delighted with his suggestion.
Since I have been working with fabric lately he suggested the following:
