To visit these guys.....our warm, generous and wonderful friends L and J (they and the surrounding areas are "Soul Medicine" to me)
Their trees have EYES.....can you see them looking at you?
birds nest in their umbrella, very intricate
Fall is beginning to don her colorful cloaks..........
L and J took "garden bed" to a whole other level. (eventually vines will grow up and over the canopy.
one of their many birdhouses. I think there's a wee fairy living in there making bird seed pie.
Below, lunch out on our first day - lovely small town of Volcano
Best fish and chips I've ever had outside the UK
Walked in the old St. George Hotel
This stone fireplace inside the hotel is made from rocks collected locally. Oh how I'd love to have a fireplace like that.
The house below is located behind the hotel and I fell in love. I wish I had taken more expansive photos. The grounds and the surroundings are stunning.
As always we are fed beyond belief
Ahi tuna appetizers that were out of this world
BohoHandyman (far right) helped them put the roof on their greenhouse.
L and J's surroundings are magical.........wherever you look there is a treasure to behold whether it's a tiny something on a railing or faces on the trees or fountains or garden art.....next time we go up there I am going to walk around and take a video. They find or are given or make the most amazing things. AND they are so generous it overwhelms me......they had a few treasures waiting for us. (will post about those in another post plus the early birthday {it's not for 2 months) present they gave me) We drove around looking for garage sales/yard sales/estate sales.........cruised a couple antique stores. This was my car before we left....a 4-Runner with the back seats down and it was packed.
The weekend wasn't nearly long enough and I didn't take as many photos as I wanted too.... but it was busy with love and laughter and heart to hearts and music and fantastic food and the hospitality of two men we cherish dearly. They are the hosts with the most who just ENJOY life to the fullest!! (AND they are getting married!!!!!!)
We plan to go back this winter..........a sort of Big Chill weekend of cooking (learning some of their tips and tricks), a fire going and music playing as we dance about the kitchen. And hug a lot!!
We cherish moments like these.........whether it's sitting on the deck chatting....enjoying a good meal prepared with love.......out and about exploring........ or even watching a movie. Whatever it is, when it's done with people who matter, the experience is that much more enhanced.
It's Autumn, we are waiting for it to feel like here at home.....then it will inspire me to put out some Fall decor, make soup and where a cardi. Ahhhh the sights and scents of Fall. I hope you are enjoying yours!
Until we meet again............
