Good Morning.......at least it's morning as I type this.....6:00 AM to be exact. I seem to have become quite the early riser these days and so I revel in the quiet - it is still dark as BohoHandyman and the animals are still asleep and the only sound is the beep beep beep that the coffee is ready.
Zen is art journaling with favorite lines, circles, doodles and color. My favorite fountain pen with markers, watercolor markers, watercolor blocks and acrylic paint....always combining the same colors it would seem. I am finishing up pages in one I started about 3 yrs ago so that I don't start a new one until the last one is full. (although I must admit my giant watercolor Moleskine is calling me)
Are you like that?
And when I am not doing that (which is mostly in the evenings) I have other projects.....and household chores I tend to neglect.....sorry but creativity wins over dust bunnies every time.
I recently made a birthday gift (photos below) for a good friend and when I gave it to her on Monday she immediately hung it on her living room wall. Now that felt good - both because she truly loved it AND that it took all of 5 minutes for her to hang it! I love when a gift from the heart is so truly appreciated.
BohoHandyman cut a circle of plywood for me........I then drew the circle and star shape and he cut them out. I used fabric I stiffened for the star backing and hung a chandelier crystal in the circle opening. The rest I drew and painted. I believe it's a 2' circle.
She and I then went to a place where you can do glass fusion......but I will save that for when my piece is fired and ready.
We (BohoHandyman and I) are planning to do more of these in various shapes and themes - the next one right now is a 9" wide x 48" long piece of wood I will be working on (for us) to hang above the opening between our living room and kitchen.
Well my friends, I think I'm ready for a second cuppa and to get started on that ever present "to-do" list. I could sit and chat with you about all kinds of things but I need to pace myself and well............posts tend to get long. Hopefully it will give you a reason to stop by here again.
