Hello there..................
I blog without obligation so there are times when it may be a couple weeks or so between posts.....but I'm still here.
Before I begin though I wanted to let you all know I am also on Instagram now......I've had it since 2011 but just recently began utilizing it and I love it. Come by, won't you? Follow me and we can follow each other............I post a lot of my art there. Hope to see you!!

Now......I've been working in art books a lot........I don't call them art 'journals' because I don't do much actual journaling. I will use the occasional quote or even a song lyric. So calling it my Art Journals didn't seem accurate somehow. But whatever, it's just a word.
Anyway......... Here are a few of my favorite things:
I really love these - they take a lot of abuse, the pages accept all sorts of mediums (as long as you don't scrub too hard). I like the larger size and you can google it to find various prices.
They go from this:
To this:
and they hold up great.
Sometimes I will cover a page with a piece of watercolor paper........or cut up images I drew a long time ago on cardstock and add them to a page. It all varies and it takes it all!!
This is a spread from one of them.:
I have filled two of them FULL and have 2 more waiting. So far.........
This is the next one ready to go....
The center piece is an old antique book I got on ebay for cheap that I glued on the cover. I saved the insides that only hung on by a thread and loved the title for an art book. The back of the book is tooled a bit so I've saved that for another cover later.
The other thing I LOVE to work in is on a much smaller scale. A few years ago when Borders Books closed down I bought a few things by Paperchase. This little notebook was one of them and I just set it aside all this time. Well......I got it out and decided it was the perfect size to sit and doodle in but suddenly found myself doing more than doodling.
It is 6"x5" and fits comfortably in hand. The kraft paper paper pages are pretty substantial but there are times I will glue or use 2 sided tape to put a couple of pages together for even more stability. It truly seems to accept most mediums but often I will gesso the pages first. It's whatever you want.
I painted the cover to look like an old book.........of course it has gotten excess paint on it but I can easily go over the black and seal it.
This is what it looks like as I've nearly filled it:
This is one of the spreads inside:
I love this wee book so much that I found it on the Paperchase site and ordered 3 more. It comes from the UK so I won't get it for a bit yet, but it's worth the wait. I can take it anywhere.

I also recently revamped a lamp shade for a small Ikea lamp I have sitting on my desk....if you know me, you know I cannot leave things plain. I tried to rotate so you can see the various sides. I sat one night while watching TV and just kept going.
Well that's it for now...............next time I will talk about some of my favorite art supplies.
I hope all is well in your worlds and that you are enjoying November, I am still waiting for the temps to reflect the season. You know, cool enough for a cardi or using a blanket on the sofa at night....having the windows open with the cool breeze moving the curtains. Ahhh......that's bliss!
P.S. Don't forget..............come on over and follow along on Instagram...........
