Hello there! Well it's official.........it's September. And with it I hope Fall is just around the corner to bring cool days and a slight breeze.............it's been too warm (some days downright HOT) here for my taste.
Anyway.....six of us embarked on a journal round robin....we created a journal, did some art in it and sent it off. Each month we received a journal and did our own art and passed it along. It was a really fun way to collaborate and I absolutely love mine. It came back filled with delicious art and words and the spirits involved permeated each and every page. It is certainly a treasure I hold dear.
This is the cover of mine.....I used an old book as the cover and made the pages from file folders so they'd be a bit sturdy. I wanted it to look like an old door.

These are the pages I did before passing it along:
I made pockets on the inside cover for the other gals to add favorite quotes or sayings or whatever they wanted.
The following were done by Priti Lisa - I so love and admire her soulful art and she's an amazing person as well! She has this way with her art that you want to linger and take in all the richness.
These next pages were done by Judie. Judie and I have been friends through blogging for 8 years and we've seen one another through some real heartbreak and real joy. She gets the inner oceandreamer in me. She is a fantastic artist! She is a fantastic person. One day we will bridge the two coasts we live on and meet in person!
These next 2 pages were done by Tracy. Tracy Dove has a geniuine, loving heart. We have gotten to know one another this year and someday I hope to actually meet in person for that long, overdue hug. Her art speaks to the hippie within with vibrancy and soul.
These next pages were done by Tere. Tere unfortunately doesn't have a link. She's a new friend I met via the other gals and she's very sweet. Tere's forte is decoupage for her pages and they are so sweet with heart.
The last of the pages were done by Gemma. Oh my, what can I say about Gemma? To know her is to truly love her. She, like Judie and I, have been friends for 8 years and I actually had the monumental joy of spemding time with her on our group trip to Sedona a few years ago. She is kind and wonderful and loving and you just want to marinate in her spirit. She is also, of course, a fabulous artist. She sees to the core.
(I had loved that face and she was going to print one for me....I was so happy she included it in my journal)
So that was the journey my art journal took. Here, there and everywhere returning to me filled with wonderous pages. There are still a few blank pages so I plan to fill those up so the book is complete cover to cover.

This past weekend our dear friends Larry and Jeff celebrated their marriage with a fiesta party at their home. I will share a little more in my next post.

And speaking of marriage..........
Today is our 37th Wedding Anniversary. I married a man who has been there by my side through everything life can hand us. The voice of calm, the strong shoulder, the giving and loving hand to hold. A man who loves me for ME........for better or worse. I hit the jackpot with BohoHandyman..............and I feel blessed each and every day for having not only the love we share but the true, unwavering friendship that is so important in any marriage. This man would do anything for me and I do not take it for granted one bit. We may not have super riches monetarily but the riches we DO have far outweigh all else. ♥♥♥♥♥♥
(what can I say about BohoHandyman's wild hair and those glasses?......but hey..... it was 1977) I've actually tried to get him to let his hair grow but he's done with it. At least he still has hair! HA!
I hope all is well in your neck of the woods and that you are healthy, happy and creative!!
