A week goes by lickity split..........does it not?
So I finished the wall hanging for Janet, the winner of my 7 year blogiversary giveaway. I have warned her not to look at my blog unless she doesn't mind seeing it ahead of time. She didn't choose a theme but just wanted me to surprise her.
It was created using canvas fabric, paint, inks, markers, glitter, sewing and more......the more consists of creating a couple embellishments using unusual and around-the-house items I upcycled. I will explain what they are in a later post.
I hung it on a line outside to take the photos.......the white background is a table runner I used to block out the yard behind. (which is NOT pretty)
The dragonfly is soaring above a garden..........(I guess it's wishful thinking for my own garden to be in existance)
I hope she likes it.
And speaking of wall hangings.......I recently made one for my dear friend for her birthday.
I created the image to look like my friend which was done separately and sewed to the background. She had said all she wanted for her birthday was "peace of mind" so I did this to represent that. I used all sorts of things for this one including molding paste for the hair. I did the background to look "faux" batik. Can you believe I didn't take more photos......I took this one after I gave it to her. Once she hangs it up I will take better photos. The backside is the fabric you see around the edge.
I have so many ideas to really go above and beyond where my imagination can take me.........unusual dye methods to try, manipulating fabric, using unusual mediums, upcycling, creating(sewing) way more than wall hangings. And of course paint and paint mediums. I am raring to go my friends!
OH and there are other projects (not fabric related) coming up as well - one will include these below
So lots on the horizon............there just aren't enough hours in a day!!
So what's new in your neck of the woods?
