Hello you lovely beings!
I have been creating art each and every day............sometimes it's all in my art journals and sometimes it's painting, or using various mediums or with needle and thread or a different sort of project. Sometimes it's just doodling. Sometimes it's a gift for someone.
I like to share some of the things that come from the above....why? because it's what I do and who I am. It is my Zen, my calm, my soul.
Most days I spend time in very comfy clothes or jammies.........my hair messily clipped up. Slippers on my feet. The dog sleeps nearby as do the cats. Sometimes I watch old classic films on TCM while working although I hear it more than I see it. Sometimes I listen to audio books. Sometimes it's a Netflix streaming movie or a British Series. (I feel like a hermit sometimes, do you ever feel that way?)
I just finished watching season 1 of Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries (this one is Australian) Can I just say her style is amazing and her prowess at solving crime quite unique? Phyrne (pronounced fry-knee) is a real renaissance woman! And she has a colorful cast of characters quite loyal to her. I can't wait until the second season is available!! (it just finished filming in August)
What's interesting (to me anyway) is that often times I draw women with that style like the one below I did a month or so ago.........I am so drawn to that style (if only I had the right bone structure, I'd wear my hair like that). Maybe I was born in the wrong era.
ANYWAY.....I am rambling. This is what I wanted to share today..............
From a wooden box I had in the garage (from a consignment shop some time ago) to a Treasure Chest for my Great Nephew's 4th Birthday. Complete with treasure map.
Over the years he can put his favorite treasures inside.
Forgive the bad lighting.... on the "before" (it was done quickly) and the with "afters" I had to snap the photos early in the morning as it was being shipped that day and I hadn't taken pictures yet.
I embossed a piece of metal, painted with ink and acrylics and tacked down with gold thumb tacks.
I used sticky back felt for inside the lid and the inside bottom of the box. The map was done on brown craft paper that I wadded up and then painted on.
So what do YOU have in the background when YOU are creating? Music, movies, TV, silence?
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
Sending out wishes for you all to have a most amazing weekend.........filled with magic of your own making! Stay warm if it has begun to get cold where you are. We are having cooler temps now. This morning I took the dog out at 5:30 and stood there looking up at what stars I could see and the moon glowing.....I was mesmerized and realized how much I need to look UP more. So take the time to look up too!
P.S. You may see my blog banner change a lot, it's all a matter of trial and error to get it to where Goldie Locks would say "that's just right".
UNTIL NEXT TIME......................♥
